If this video (which was just posted yesterday, March 26th) is any indication, I’d say that Andre Dawkins is definitely still planning on returning to the team next season.
Nice little read from DukeBluePlanet regarding Duke’s outstanding defense against Creighton.
- Doug McDermott entered the game ranked second nationally in scoring and was the fifth player Duke has faced this season in the NCAA’s top 25 in points per game. Duke held McDermott to 21 points, below his season average of 23.2 PPG and the All-American didn’t make a field goal in the second half. Ryan Kelly, Mason Plumlee, Josh Hairston, Amile Jefferson and Tyler Thornton took turns guarding the Creighton star and limited him to 4-for-16 shooting from the floor (his worst FG% over his past two seasons).
- Creighton shot just 2-of-19 (.105) from three-point range, well below their NCAA-best season clip of .422 from beyond the arc.
- Creighton’s scoring output was their lowest of the season. Averaging 74.4 PPG on the year, Duke held the Jays to 50 points.
- Duke limited Creighton to a season-worst 3o.2% from the floor (16-of-53). The Jays lead the nation in that category, shooting over 50.0%.
